The dashboard and its widgets

The dashboard is the screen you land on when you open HappenBoard. It is a grid of widgets you can rearrange to suit how you work.

The widgets

Welcome

A short greeting and orientation, useful on a fresh install and easy to remove once you no longer need it.

Get set up

A checklist that tracks how far along you are, shown as a count of completed items. On the free plugin it covers two milestones:

  • Create your first event
  • Receive your first RSVP

Only steps you can still complete appear, so the count means something. With HappenBoard Pro active a third row joins them at the top, Connect a payment gateway, which is why the widget looks different on a site that sells tickets.

Each unfinished item carries a button that takes you straight to the right screen.

Pulse

Five counts that tell you the state of your calendar at a glance:

  • Upcoming (7 days)
  • Published events
  • Drafts
  • Attendees
  • New this week

Upcoming events

The next events on your calendar, each linking through to its own editing screen.

Quick actions

Four shortcuts: New event, Open calendar, View attendees and Settings.

Rearranging the dashboard

Widgets can be dragged to a new position and resized by their edges. Your layout is saved against your own user account, so changing it does not affect anyone else on the site.
