Slack

Get a message in your team channel every time someone registers, cancels or checks in.

  • No bot to build, no code to write
  • One Slack webhook address and you are done
  • Pick which events your team hears about

What you can do with it

  • Post a message in one Slack channel when someone signs up or gets a ticket, free or paid.
  • Hear about cancellations made by attendees with the link in their email, or by a refund.
  • Follow the door on event day: each check-in, and each check-in undone, can post a message.
  • Open the event from Slack with the View event button at the end of each message.
  • Choose the messages your team gets. Sign-ups and check-ins are on at first, the other two off.

Your team keeps up with sign-ups in Slack without opening this dashboard.

How to set it up

  1. In Slack, create an app, switch on Incoming Webhooks and add a webhook for your channel.
  2. In WordPress, go to HappenBoard → Integrations and click Configure on the Slack (Pro) card.
  3. Paste the address into Incoming Webhook URL.
  4. Under Subscribed events, tick the messages you want and click Save changes.
  5. Click Test ping: a test message appears in the channel.

The Slack notifications guide shows what each message contains.

What you need

  • A Slack workspace where you can add an app.

Free and Pro

The free plugin sends emails to attendees: confirmation, reminder, cancellation and date changes. It sends nothing to your team.

Slack notifications come with HappenBoard Pro, along with WhatsApp messages, outbound webhooks and MailerPress triggers.

Good to know

  • Messages go to the channel the webhook was created for. HappenBoard keeps one address at a time.
  • Sign-up and cancellation messages show attendees’ email addresses. Use a private channel if many people read it.
  • A cancellation made by your team on the Attendees screen is not posted.
  • Messages leave in the background. A message Slack does not accept within five seconds is not sent again.
  • On a busy site, keep only Attendee checked in so the channel stays readable.
