Put event details in your SEOPress titles and descriptions, without filling in a meta field per event.
- Event date, venue and seats left as SEOPress title variables
- Events and category breadcrumbs, with SEOPress Pro
- Optional noindex for events that are over
What you can do with it
- Use ten event variables in SEOPress title and description templates: start, start date, start time, end, duration, venue, venue city, organizer, categories and seats left.
- Give every event page its own title from one template, such as “Yoga class on July 28, 2026 in Nantes”.
- Add an Events level and the event’s category to SEOPress Pro breadcrumbs.
- Keep finished events out of search results with
noindex, followonce all their dates are over. - Keep one Event schema per page: if you add one by hand in SEOPress Pro, HappenBoard prints none there.

How to set it up
- Install and activate SEOPress, and HappenBoard Pro.
- Go to HappenBoard → Integrations and click Configure on the SEOPress (Pro) card.
- Set the three switches and click Save changes.
- In SEO → Titles & Metas, open the settings for single post types and find Events.
- Add HappenBoard variables to the title or description template, then save.
The SEOPress integration guide lists every variable and how the breadcrumbs are built.
What you need
- SEOPress, installed and active. Breadcrumbs need SEOPress Pro with its breadcrumbs shown on your pages.
- HappenBoard Pro, active next to the free plugin.
- Linked venues and organizers, so their variables are filled in.
Free and Pro
The free plugin prints the Event structured data on every event page, with the dates, place, organizer and seats. It leaves titles, meta descriptions, Open Graph and sitemaps to your SEO plugin.
The SEOPress variables, breadcrumbs and noindex of past events come with HappenBoard Pro.
Good to know
- Auto-noindex is off by default, because it changes how an existing site is indexed.
- A recurring event stays indexed until its last date has ended, and so does a series with no end.
- On a recurring event, the start, end and duration variables are those of the first date of the series.
- The seats variable is empty when the event has no capacity.
- Outside an event page, every HappenBoard variable is empty, so shared templates never show raw text.
